About the Secure-A-Door® Locking Mechanism
- The SECURE-A-DOOR® unique three-point locking system takes away the most common method’s used by thieves to open a locked door. The door is held securely in place on all four sides. The only way to enter is with a key!!!
- The lock is as simple to use as any other security door locking mechanism, making it suitable for all Residential, Commercial and industrial applications. The handle is large and well placed; making it easy to use even for children, the elderly and the disabled.
- The strength of the door is increased by the addition of three steel sleeves installed into the jams. These are long enough to reach the 2x4 doorframe. The locking bolts are in effect now, extending three inches past the door jamb!!! Since traditional locking methods with passage lock and deadbolt only lock into the door jamb, it weakens the strength of the wood grain. When a force is applied to the locking area, either by shoulder or foot, it can exceed 3000 pounds per square inch, focused at that small piece of door jamb. Thanks to the unique design of SECURE-A-DOOR® this 3000 pound per square inch impact is distributed across the square footage of the door, minimizing the impact to approximately 27 pounds per square inch. This impact become insignificant and is not enough to shatter the wood structure of the door jamb and the wall studs penetrated by our 3 inch steel sleeves.
- The SECURE-A-DOOR® locking mechanism can be installed into steel insulated doors, for Residential, Commercial and Industrial applications. They will fit into existing jams or pre-hung units.
